Barware

This is all the tools you will need to create your cocktail, if you don't have any of these don't worry we will provide you alternatives.

  • Muddler: For this we have several alternatives. First, if you have a mortar and pestle that would work perfectly. Then a wooden spoon would work just make sure is clean and a rolling pin as well. Lastly, any cylindrical object you can find in your kitchen can do the trick.
  • Jigger: If you want to be precise when making your drink and do not have the jigger a measuring spoon can work great and for larger volume a measuring cup can do the work.
  • Cocktail Shaker: An alternative for this is quite easy, basically any jar or bottle with a lid will work just fine.
  • Cocktail Strainer: A tea strainer would work great or any type of strainer but the finer the mesh the better.

  • 3/4 water
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1-2 chamomile tea bags
  • 3 ounces fresh grapefruit juice
  • 2-4 tablespoons chamomile honey syrup
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 4 fresh strawberries
  • sparkling water
  • crushed ice

Preparation

Step One.

We can start first on the chamomile honey syrup. Combine water and honey in a small saucepan and bring to a low boil, simmer 1 minute and remove from the heat. Add the tea bag, cover and steep for 5-10 minutes. Remove the tea bag and allow the syrup to cool completely.

Step Two.

To a cocktail shaker add the grapefruit juice, chamomile syrup, tequila and strawberries to a glass. Use a muddler and gently push the strawberries down until they release their juices and are lightly smashed.

Step Three.

Next, add a handful of ice and then add sparkling water to top off. Give the drink a gentle stir. Taste and add more chamomile syrup if desired.

Step Four.

Garnish with fresh chamomile flowers and strawberries and enjoy!
